Daytime and evening Dialectical Behavior Therapy groups are available on a recurring basis and admission is on a rolling basis.
Topics covered in DBT groups include Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance.
The sessions are interactive, and patients are expected to attend sessions as regularly as possible. Patients are welcome to attend more than one session a week but should expect to commit to their regular weekly time as often as their time permits.
In order to join a DBT group, you will need to be screened ahead of time by Dr. Gunnet-Shoval. It is expected that patients have an individual Psychologist or therapist. If this is not the case, patients are able to meet with Dr. Gunnet-Shoval for individual sessions. However, patients may not join a DBT group without concurrent engagement in individual therapy. Topics in DBT are sensitive, and it is important that patients have an individual therapist or Psychologist to debrief with between group meetings.
People join DBT groups for various reasons, including but not limited to a history of trauma, dual mental health diagnoses, clinical mood disorders, personality disorders, pervasive and ongoing conflicts in interpersonal relationships.
Groups are $150 per session, and participants will receive a superbill (filled out for you) to submit to insurance for possible reimbursement. As a licensed Psychologist, many of my patients - and currently all who have out-of-network benefits - receive some form of reimbursement from their insurance.
If you are interested in joining a DBT group with Dr. Gunnet-Shoval, please fill out the form below.
